In September we went 2-0 in five days. The day after one game I admitted I took like 0 pics. That is pretty much how I do the internet in general. I post in the moment and I post a lot.
Which is fine for game days. It is less fine when somebody is trying to figure out which accounts are actually me. I have been on X since May 2013. As I write this that account is sitting at 44.8K posts. Nobody is scrolling through 44.8K posts to work out which accounts are mine, and nobody should have to. So I made one place where the answer is just written down, by me, in plain English. You are on it.
Forty-four thousand posts is not a filing system
If you search my name or my handle right now, you get whatever the search engine felt like showing you that day. Maybe my X. Maybe my Instagram. Maybe some random page that copied a picture of me and slapped a different name on it. I don't get a say in that order, and neither do you. A site like this is my way of getting a say. When it shows up in a search, it is the one result I wrote myself.
The other problem is that my accounts don't really explain themselves. My X bio is a handful of words, some emojis, a scorpion and a link. My Instagram bio basically comes down to bills, sabres, bandits. If you already know me, that is plenty. If you just found me, it tells you almost nothing, and it definitely doesn't tell you which other accounts are mine and which ones are pretending.
A bio can tell you what I like. It can't tell you what isn't me.
Why not just the Linktree
I already have a Linktree, Buffaluv, and it is in both of my bios. It is great for what it does, which is put a few buttons on a page. But a Linktree can only point at stuff. It can't tell you where I am not. It can't tell you what a fake account usually looks like, or what to do if one messages you, or keep a dated record of when things happened. That is what this site is for. The full list of my real accounts is on the official links page, and the way to check any account before you follow it, pay it or send it anything is on the verify page. If you only ever look at two pages here, make it those two.
There is also an official statement, which is the boring formal version of all this. It is there so that if I ever need to report an account to a platform, I have one link that says what is mine, in writing, from me. Nobody reads that kind of page for fun, and that is okay. It is there for the times it matters.
What isn't changing
None of this means I am about to get polished. I am still going to post on X the same way I always have. Bills, mostly, from a fan who also lists the Sabres and Bandits. The occasional complaint about a line at the new stadium, which I love, by the way, even when it takes over 25 minutes to get my seat mate a wine. The occasional picture of a bird that is way bigger in real life than it looks in the picture. The days where there is no football for me and it is just good vibes and Lord Huron. That is the account, and it is staying that account.
I put the practical posts up first: where to find me, and what to do about fake accounts. This one is just the why, and the why is honestly pretty simple. I wanted one corner of the internet where I am the only one who gets to write the description. Everywhere else, somebody else designs the page, decides what shows up first and can change the rules whenever they want. Here, if it says it is me, it is me.
So that is the website. It is not fancy and it is not supposed to be. Next game I will try to take more than zero pictures. No promises.
